Prodyut Bala hails from a family of Hindustani Classical singers. He was initiated into classical music at the tender age of nine and gained proficiency over the years. He later developed an intense attraction towards Baul music and philosophy and went on to become a disciple of Harekrishna Das Baul. A resident of Ilambazar in Birbhum district of West Bengal, Prodyut has performed at various festivals in West Bengal and also in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Andhrapradesh.
